APWU Rally for Good Jobs,
Good Service

To celebrate the 240th birthday of the U.S. Postal Service, the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) is mobilizing to preserve this valuable institution. The APWU contract expired on May 20th without an agreement. Post Workers and the USPS customers are up against forces that are destroying the Postal Service at the same time it is demanding givebacks from its workers.

The Facts……

  • The Postal Service turned a profit on its operations the last 2 years.
  • The Postal Service receives no tax revenue for its operations.
  • The Postal Service provides good union jobs that provide opportunity and tax dollars to every community.
  • The United States Post Office (USPO) was create don July 26, 1775
  • The USPS is one of the largest providers of jobs for America’s veterans in this nation.

An informed public is our greatest ally. We are mobilizing to inform the public of the attacks on YOUR Postal Service.

When: July 31, 2015

Where: Rally at Felker Field (1.5 blocks NE of Hazel Park PO ) at 4:30 p.m.

March to the Hazel Park Post Office (John R north of 9 Mile) 5:30 p.m. Informational Picket until 6:30 p.m.

APWU members: Come out to protect your future

Veterans: Come out to protect jobs for fellow veterans

Seniors: Come out to protect door-to-door delivery

Don’t let the profit seeking privatizers destroy America’s Postal Service!

Rally sponsored by the 480-481 Area Local of the APWU – Standing up and fighting back, for our membership, for our veterans and for the American people.     Roscoe Woods, President
